NEXTGENPCR (ultra fast pcr) introduced by MBS
NGPCR: An entirely new ultra fast technology for heating and cooling of samples.
Until now PCR instruments have relied on Peltier elements to heat and cool an aluminium or silver block, accommodating 96 or 384 polypropylene tubes, holding PCR-mixes. Using this technology PCR-times are usually between 50 and 150 minutes, for 30 cycle 3-temperature reactions.
Now, using MBS microplates, and MBS proprietary heat transfer technology, ramp rates of more than 1000 degrees per second become possible. Go from melting to annealing in less than 0.1 second. Total reaction time is between 2 and 10 minutes.
