Cell Growth

Ultimate Control

Since 1993 Ruskinn Technologies have been at the forefront of controlled environmental workstations. Their anaerobic workstations enable both research and clinical microbiologists to streamline their workflows and obtain the best primary isolation rates.

Since 1999 the development of hypoxia and physoxia workstations has revolutionised cell biology. They enable cells to be grown under physiologically relevant oxygen levels and have been fundamental in pioneering research into hypoxia.

In 2011 Ruskinn Technologies were acquired by The Baker Company, who developed the first biological safety cabinet. Baker Ruskinn has continued to develop innovative technologies for both microbiology and cell biology.

Baker Ruskinn Instruments

Hypoxia / Physoxia Workstations

Oxygen levels throughout the human body, range between 2 – 14% . In vivo cell interactions do not naturally occur at the atmospheric oxygen levels (20.9%) used for traditional cell culture.

Anaerobic Workstations

Oxygen sensitive micro-organisms cannot tolerate the stress of benchtop conditions. The Baker Ruskinn anaerobic workstations allow quick and easy transfer of samples into a controlled anaerobic environment, allowing faster identification of anaerobes (primary isolation).

Cell Protection

Baker Ruskinn produce a range of innovative products that work in conjunction with their workstations or can serve as an introduction / proof of concept for researchers new to the world of physiologically relevant cell culture.
