IntelliGene® Human Cancer CHIP Ver. 4.0 is a DNA microarray arrayed and immobilized with approximately 890 cDNA fragments of human genes, which are composed of about 590 kinds of human identified genes related with cancer and about 300 kinds of the cDNA fragments prescreened by Differential Display method (DD method) between cancer tissue and normal one, on a slide glass. For the identified genes, about 300 bp cDNA region of each gene, which have minimal homology against other genes registered at cDNA database, are spotted on this DNA microarray. The cDNA fragments (250-1.200 bp) selected by DD method as the gene having a difference in expression level were cloned, and sequenced. Also DNA fragments derived from human housekeeping genes such as β-actin and derived from other species such as lambda DNA are spotted on this product as control spots for hybridization. These DNA fragments are arrayed at the colored area on the slide glass figure.

The expression of each gene can be simultaneously analyzed through hybridization of the probes which are prepared by using RNA (total RNA or polyA+ RNA) obtained from human cells as a template. Control spots can be used to normalize the signal intensity between fluorescence-labeled probes and to determine the background level. The array list contains Gene name, Cluster ID of UniGene and Accession number of GenBank for the identified genes. For the genes prescreened by DD method, the TaKaRa clone IDs are mentioned as Gene name in the Array list, and the partial sequences of the spotted fragments are listed in DD Target Sequence List. Takara Bio offers separately the clones (plasmid) corresponding to these prescreened genes. Please refer to the datasheet supplied with this product about the details.
