These products are required to lower
non-specific signals caused by PolyA
sequence or repeated sequences which
exist in several mRNA and have low
specificity, as well as to prevent
non-specific adsorption on a DNA
microarray. It is recommended to add 5 ×
Competitor I or II in the hybridization
buffer, when using human or mouse DNA
microarray. (5 × Competitor II is also
available for rat DNA microarray.)
5 × Competitor I (Human) contains Human
Cot I DNA, Poly dA and Yeast tRNA. 5 ×
Competitor II (Mouse) contains Mouse Cot
I DNA, Poly dA and Yeast tRNA. These
products have been treated with
phenol/chloroform.
