POLARstar Optima FLUOstar Omega POLARstar Omega LUMIstar Omega

LUMIstar Omega - Dedicated high performance microplate luminometer upgradeable to powerful multidetection reader with spectrometer

The dedicated DLReady® certified microplate luminometer LUMIstar Omega provides highly sensitive reading of flash and glow luminescence assays and versatility through onboard "smart" injectors, a built-in filter wheel, shaking, incubation up to 60°C, as well as a gas vent connection to support all major types of cell based assays. For BRET applications, even Simultaneous Dual Emission detection is possible. Part of the Omega microplate reader series, the LUMIstar Omega also has these outstanding features:

Features:

Onboard "smart" injectors dispense reagents and initiate kinetic events

Upgradeable to FLUOstar Omega or POLARstar Omega with UV/Vis spectrometer
Template manager for transferring standards, building complex data processing protocols and using default templates
Versatile kinetic software features for endpoint, long-term and fast kinetic measurements
Real-time kinetic monitoring
Built-in filter wheel for color discrimination assays
Plate capacity up to 384-well
"QuickStart" mode allows users to read plates with just 3 mouse clicks
Impressive well-scanning feature allows cell-based assays to be performed with ease
Expanded temperature control up to 60°C
Stacker and robot compatibility

Optimized for kinetic measurements: Onboard "smart" injectors and versatile kinetic software features:

Kinetic events can be conveniently initiated using integrated "smart" injectors, which allow simultaneous reagent injection and detection. The compact and open design of the LUMIstar Omega microplate luminometer enables the user to save expensive reagents due to low dead volume and to check the priming process. Injection speed and timing is fully adjustable within the control software. Up to four different volumes, between 5 and 350 µL can be delivered in 0.5 µL increments to each well. The injectors can deliver agonists, substrates, enzymes - even cells, for advanced microplate assays. When monitoring a fast calcium signal kinetic, data can be collected as quickly as 50 reading points per second. For glow reactions, you can choose plate-mode and to have longer kinetic times or you can choose endpoint glow luminescence runs.

Color discrimination assays

The LUMIstar Omega luminometer can read at distinct wavelengths (needed for e.g. BRET and ChromaGlo") using up to eight different optical luminescence filters. These filters are built into a filter wheel, which minimizes filter switching time.

Upgradable to multidetection microplate reader with spectrometer

Whenever the need for fluorescence and absorbance based experiments arrive, have the LUMIstar Omega microplate luminometer upgraded to a FLUOstar Omega multidetection microplate reader. If the need for Simultaneous Dual Emission or Fluorescence Polarization arises, have the LUMIstar Omega upgraded to the POLARstar Omega. Both of these Omega multi-detection microplate readers are capable of capturing an absorbance spectrum (220 - 850 nm) at a resolution of 1 nm. Read times faster than 1 second per well are possible.

Applications include:

Luciferase reporter gene assays, promoter analyses

Luminescent immunoassays
Cell-based assays
Intracellular Ca2+ with aequorin
Ion channel, GPCR screening
ATP assays  (e.g. Mycoplasma contaminations of cell cultures)
GUS assays (ß-glucuronidase)
ROS (reactive oxygen species)
BRET assay for monitoring intermolecular interactions
Enzyme activity assays (e.g. evaluation of PARP inhibitors, screen for cytochrome P450 inhibitors, protein kinase assay
Nucleic acid detection (PCR quantification)
